Everything, from marinating the fruit, to mixing, to baking, packaging, aging, and mailing is done right at the monastery by the monks. Assumption Abbey is not a commercial enterprise. It is a way of life, and that way of life, combined with the careful work of the bakers, insures a dedication to high quality that makes Assumption Abbey Fruitcakes among this country's finest.

The Trappist monks of the Assumption Abbey- a secluded monastery nestled in the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks- bake these dark, rich, traditional style fruitcakes to support themselves in their contemplative lifestyle. The fruitcake contains raisins, pineapple, currants, pecans, walnuts, citron, wine and an ounce of rum. Net weight 2 lbs. Beautifully presented in gift tin.

Your fruitcake is heavenly!

I’m not usually a fan of most retail fruitcakes. But after reading the reviews, I decided to give one a try. So moist. So flavorful. The fruit and juts are of excellent quality. I’m sold. What a wonderful creation. Thank you for your dedication to a premier product. 🥰

Lori Ringger

My 95yr old mom wasn't able to make her own fruitcake this year because she wasn't feeling well, but she really missed having one for Christmas. So I took a chance and ordered your's for New Years and gave it to her. She loved it! She kept the whole fruitcake for herself, ate it all, and talked about it for weeks. She said it was full of fruit, loved the black walnuts, and said it was absolutely delicious! She asked about the price and said it was well worth the cost. I guess we have a new holiday tradition..buying your fruitcake!

What a fruitcake should be!

I love good fruitcake. This is exactly what I want in a fruitcake — tons of fruit and nuts in small sizes so you’re not getting chunks of one flavor or another but a combo of the tastes you love. The cake is also excellent — not overwhelmingly boozy, just subtle and blends well with the fruit and nuts.

Fruitcake

My son has been giving me a fruitcake from Ava monks for several years. This year I wanted an extra one for a gift. Always great tasting.
