My wife has wanted an outdoor nativity set for years. I bought the 39” set for her and it arrived the day before the Ephiany and she is Thrilled!

I’m good at woodworking and will make the Manger sections from Cedar. I’ll put rope lighting inside to light it up, in addition to two floods (manger and wise men).

Problem: we live in a sometimes windy area and the 4 tall pieces will be blown over. Catholic Supply said “Do NOT drill a hole into the bottom.” They recommended fishing line and ground anchors.

Solutions: St. Joseph will be tied to the Manger. The Shephard will be tied to the outside of the manger and will have two ground anchors (fishing lines).

The wise men will be anchored to a plywood sled with two beveled 2x4 runners. My wife wants it to start at the eastern-most part of our yard and then slowly be pulled every few days toward the manger. She’s really into her Christmas gift! Happier than had it been jewelry😀

This set arrived quickly and it is really beautiful in person. The painting and detail is well done and the quality is very good. I think my parish will enjoy this set for many years. I need to get a stable next.
