5/8 x 11/16 inch two-tone sterling silver miraculous medal on an 18 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. Around the outside of the gold frame of Mary on the front of the medal are the words inscribed, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The year 1830 is inscribed on the front which represents the year Catherine Laboure. On the back of the medal in a brushed finish is the letter M, representing Mary, surmounted by a cross representing the sacrifice of Jesus, and surrounded by twelve stars that represent the twelve apostles. Includes an elegant deluxe velour jewelry box.
The origin of the miraculous medal comes from the visions Saint Catherine Laboure experienced in the year 1830 of Mary Immaculate.
